Who We Are.

My name is David Nicula and I am an auto mechanic, real estate agent, and entrepreneur that lives in the rainy city of Portland, Oregon. I love to work and stay active whether it's coming up with a new business idea or finding news ways to grow my current ventures and most importantly, help others in the process. I'm a strong advocate of the book "The Go-Giver" and my main principal that I abide by is The Law of Value, which says that in order to achieve your own goals, you must help others achieve their goals first. Give value in order to receive value.

My idea for the Electric Board Company came In 2017 when I moved to this awesome little college neighborhood called Goose Hollow, close to downtown Portland. I was always running around town to coffee meetings and other errands, and I would usually drive my '94 blue Ford Ranger pickup truck. The only problem is that parking is difficult to find, I wasted lots of gas to drive in stop-and-go traffic, and it was just plain inefficient for the short trips I was doing. I wanted a better way to be able to travel short distances in a bustling city.

I decided I wanted a method of transportation that was electrically powered, as it would be efficient and cost effective to re-charge, and also environmentally clean. Bird and Lime, 2 of the larger ride-share scooter platforms, started popping up in Portland right as I had these ideas of an ideal personal transportation vehicle swirling in my head. So I decided to give them a go and at first, they were amazing! I could finally get almost anywhere I wanted without breaking a sweat. But ride-share scooter fees add up, and it was easy to rack up a $7-$15 bill for every round-trip I was making. Buying the same scooter Bird uses is not cost-effective either. The Bird One, Bird's consumer available scooter for purchase, costs a whopping $1,299.

I wanted a better way.

I started looking into electric skateboards, as I used to skate as a kid and skateboards are also a little more exciting to ride than scooters for me. And once again I was faced with the same issue; affordability. The #1 marketplace leader of electric skateboards, Boosted Boards, offers some amazing electric skateboard models but they start at $749. I did some in-depth research on other electric skateboards available on the market and still struggled to find a low cost option. Entry level boards started in the high $300's, and would quickly skyrocket as high as $2,000.

That's when I decided I wanted to put my ideas to use, and come up with a better personal electric transportation vehicle.

My #1 goal would be affordability. I started talking with manufacturers that had experience building electric skateboards, and we explored our options. In order to make an electric skateboard affordable, it would be smaller than average in both size and weight. That was great with me, as I wanted something that was lighter and more portable that what I currently found on the market anyways. It would also have a smaller range, just 4-5 miles instead of the 7-12 miles other electric skateboard manufacturers offered. This was great with me as well, as I honestly didn't need to ride more than 5 miles each day, and I could charge it every night before I used it the next day. So it was a non-issue.

Fast forward 6 months later, and after testing several prototype models, I accomplished my goal of creating an affordable, personal electric vehicle. I call it the Juiced Cruiser electric skateboard. It features a 250 Watt in-wheel hub motor that can power you down the street up to 12 mph, and a 24V Lithium-ion battery that can last for up to 5 miles. It also features a portable 27.5" deck that can easily fit inside a school locker or lay under a work desk. It weighs just 8.4 lbs so it's easy to handle when you're not riding. A handheld wireless controller provides smooth acceleration and braking, along with an LED display showing you available battery life left, and a "HI" and "LO" setting to control maximum available power. I finally created the perfect personal electric vehicle that I had been looking for all this time.

And best of all, I accomplished my goal. I would like to share this electric skateboard with everyone else out that is interested in a personal electric vehicle, but does not want to break the bank.

I ask anyone who has any questions about our product to get in touch with me and ask me anything they wish. I run all of my own customer support, shipping and logistics. When you order an electric skateboard from the Electric Board Company, I personally fulfill every order myself and I will also be the one providing technical support should you need it. I am a strong believer that no one else can provide a better customer experience, than the business creator that sacrificed the most to build their business.
